March 2026Gamaliel was very responsive and proactive with information about the Monteverde area. The provided pictures really helped with finding the airbnb and where to park. Maria set us up with an amazing night walk and dinner at the farm next door. We had such a wonderful evening learning about the flora and creatures of the night and the weather held out for us If you don’t like cold and windy weather, then this is not the place for you. They provided warm blankets for nighttime but Gamaliel informed us that Costa Rica does not have heating systems and therefore we were unable to warm up when we got home from our excursions. Monteverde was a quaint little town with wonderful restaurants. It is a short drive from this airbnb. Overall great clean place to stay.

February 2026Notre séjour en général c’est bien passer. En arrivant sur place, nous pensions que c’était une maison isolé en haut de la montagne, mais c’est une maison jumelée et il y a d’autres logements/maisons prêt de la nôtre. Le jumelée était beau, grand et propre. Par contre, côté température, nous n’avons pas été chanceux. Nous avons eu une tempête. La température est descendu à 10 degré. Alors le chauffage dans les chambres étaient loin d’être suffisant. Nous avons eu froid, surtout qu’il à manqué d’électricité à plusieurs reprises. Une chance que l’hôte avait mis plusieurs couvertures. Petit point négatif: il y a un portail qui fonctionne à l’électricité qui se ferme la nuit. Puisque nous avions manquer de l’électricité et nous n’étions pas capable de rejoindre l’hôte, nous étions incapable de sortir en auto de la propriété. C’est un jeune fermier d’une ferme à côté qui est venu ouvrir le portail avec une clé. Ce n’est pas la faute de l’hôte, mais en cas d’urgence, ce n’est pas pratique.

December 2025Wir waren drei Tage in Monteverde und es ist ein süßer kleiner Ort. Was man jedoch beachten sollte, dass die Unterkunft ca. 5km vom Ortsinneren entfernt ist. In Monteverde ist immer Wind also bringt euch Ohropax mit um gut schlafen zu können. Die Unterkunft ist sehr geräumig und extrem sauber. Unser persönliches Highlight war, dass die Vermieter verschiedene buchbare Aktivitäten anboten und wir die Nachtwanderung mit Dinner gebucht haben. Diese wurde durch die Farm von nebenan durchgeführt und es war wundervoll, so familiär und das Essen am Ende war wunderbar. Das würde ich jedem empfehlen! Alles in allem eine tolle Unterkunft, wir würden definitiv wieder kommen!

July 2025La casa es preciosa, fiel a las fotos y a la descripción. La verdad es que pasábamos muy poco tiempo en la casa, pero en general todo muy bien. Echamos de menos algún calefactor en el salón porque a nosotros nos hizo algo de frío por la noche y también necesita algo más de mantenimiento, por ejemplo, en las ventanas para que no entre aire o en los muebles de la cocina. Gamaliel muy amable y atento, nos ayudo mucho con algunas reservas de actividades y nos lo gestionó súper rápido. Nos dio mucha información de restaurantes, lavandería que necesitábamos. Nuestra estancia ha sido muy buena.

July 2025We stayed for 2 nights between our stays at La Fortuna and Palo Seco. Perfect place that was very large for our family of 5. We would recommend the Kinkajou night tour and zip lining at Selvatura, which is very close by. Be sure to check out the ficus tree in town and some of the beautiful Miradors during sunset... you won't be disappointed!

Maria even left us a bottle of wine and provided excellent recommendations for local things to do and places to eat. May 2025Maria was a very gracious host, even leaving us a bottle of wine to enjoy. The balconies were fantastic with great views of the Cloud Forest. The interior was spotless, we did get a few bugs as to be expected so just be prepared.

May 2025Overall our stay went well. The host was excellent. The house and everything was just as listed. Here are the things that I didn’t see many reviewers mention so just want to make these things I experienced clear in case someone else like me would find it helpful. 1. I rented a van. The final road to get to the house is very bumpy. You don’t need a 4x4 but I would personally recommend it just for complete piece of mind. Driving on that road at night while it’s raining was a bit scary for me as there are somewhat steep hills and the tires can skid sometimes. I personally would not want to do that again. 2. If it rains, the rains is very loud when it hits the roof. I had no issue. 3. Perhaps it’s dependent on season, but I had to kill multiple crawling bugs. No fault of owner, just how it is in that region. 4. Not very walkable so just prepare accordingly. 5. Water wasn’t warm on my first day. 2nd day it was. Still was a great experience but just be ready.

April 2025Maria’s place was gorgeous. The views were beautiful! A little off the beaten path so you definitely need a good set of wheels. Lots to do nearby and she helped us book several local adventures. I would highly recommend this place if you want peace and quiet in the evenings but close enough to local amenities. Will be back someday!

The home is newly constructed with a beautifully designed and functional interior that made our stay both comfortable and enjoyable. March 2025I got to the place at night and really tired from 3 hours drive from la fortuna and we just went for a quick dinner at one of the host recommendations and came back just to shower and sleep but when we woke up in the morning surrounding by all the green trees it was spectacular. the place itself is huge.if you want to do the zipline and Tarzan swing wich I highly recommend is 100 meters away from the condo(100 aventura)

One of the highlights was being surrounded by nature, the views of the trees from the windows made the experience even more relaxing. February 2025Very comfortable space for four people. Unit was clean and uncluttered; water pressure/temperature for the showers was great; Wi-Fi signal was strong and consistent. The flat top stove is great for making breakfast, but not as easy to use for a multi-dish meal, as the built-in safety feature causes the “burners” to repeatedly turn off when all of them are in use and hot. Overall a great space that was comfortable and clean.

December 2024We stayed one night and everything was as described. Getting to the place was not easy, we went through very rough roads (driving from La Fortuna) and then drove towards Jaco beach. Quality of wood that has been used is great but fit and finish was questionable. Drawers not fully closing, doors not latching. Also, kitchen counter and cabinets are higher than standard.

December 2024Our family had a wonderful visit to Monteverde at Maria Fernanda’s house. The house was beautiful and as described, easy to cook in. We loved sitting on the deck with coffee in the morning. Maria gave great local recommendations including the night walk tour and dinner at the private reserve and working farm next door. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Just to note - this is in the forest so you will hear all the birds, frogs and animals in the night and early morning. Part of the charm. November 2024Maria was a wonderful host, she was very responsive and when a couple small issues arose she immediately responded and came to help. We were very unlucky with terrible rain, so it made the stay colder and wetter than we had expected. This is no fault of Maria’s- just make sure you pack something warm/ have extra clothes. Everything was clean and apart from laundry, we had everything we could have needed. The restaurants Maria recommended were great! Monteverde has lots of natural beauty around it. 100% Adventura is 150m away and a must do for zip lining and Tarzan swing! If looking for a night tour, look for Felix on Airbnb.Thanks again Maria ☺️
