March 2026Great, helpful, and responsive hosts with a beautiful house in Monteverde! This house is just off the road to El Tigre Waterfall Hike, so definitely add that to your itinerary! House is spacious and clean. Great place to spread out at the end of the trip to organize and re-pack everything! Once we had everything re-packed, our “reward” was the complimentary bottle of wine, which we enjoyed out on the deck. We also ate at the restaurant Endemica while there and it was a culinary delight! One of the best meals we’ve ever had—that chef knows what they’re doing!

March 2026WOW! This is an amazing house in a spectacular location. I would give it six stars, 1000 chars isnt enough Sitting in bed looking out the floor to ceiling windows, the view is delightful. We saw birds land on the balcony railing, clouds envelop the house and a rainbow. When we were leaving, we stood in front of the window for several minutes saying goodbye to the view. We were two couples vacationing in Monteverde for three nights. The photos do not do the place justice. The rooms are large, the finishes and details are lovely, the entire space is modern and super clean. Gamaliel is exceptionally friendly and helpful. He responded quickly to our requests and made sure we were having a great experience. We went on the night hike with dinner next door at FInca Bello Amenecer. If that’s an opportunity available to you, we would recommend this to fully understand what farm to table really means. Our guide Gilberto was fun and knowledgeable. We look forward to returning.

March 2026The home was very nice and clean. Some minor inconveniences, the water pressure in the showers were weak, and there is another home right next door, which made getting in and out of the parking space a little difficult. Other than that, we had a good stay.

La chambre des maîtres est exceptionnelle. Toutes les commodités y étaient, avec en bonus un tapis roulant! À 5 minutes de marche de 100% Aventura, tellement agréable d’y aller à pied. March 2026This is a beautiful house with a welcoming host. We appreciated the bottle of wine as a welcome gift, and her offers of help for locating tours and other amenities. The house was nicely appointed and very well kept – the kitchen is large, as is the beautiful primary suite. Note that the second bedroom is quite small and dark in comparison with the primary suite; the primary had a big balcony great for viewing sunsets. Heaters in the bedrooms were great – it was cold in the house on rainy days – but a heater in the living area and kitchen is needed. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this property to others.

February 2026Beautiful, spacious home in a very quiet setting! The rooms were all very spacious and the kitchen was very well equipped with everything you would need for a dinner at home. The master bedroom is especially spacious with a deck that overlooks the forest area. So much closet space and a lovely warm shower. Gamaliel communicated by text to ensure that we had everything we needed and were comfortable! Thank you Gamaliel for your thoughtfulness and attention to detail? I would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again on a future visit!

February 2026This is a beautiful house in a nice setting. We particularly liked the wood in the rooms and the spacious kitchen. Beds are comfortable and showers good. Gamaliel communicated well and replied quickly to our questions. We were there in January and we found the downstairs family room was a little cold at night.

L’expérience nous amène toutefois à recommander ce logement avec prudence. L’arrivée a manqué de fluidité (attente liée au ménage et stationnement temporairement indisponible), ce qui, après la route vers Monteverde — longue et exigeante — affecte la première impression. L’humidité est très présente et a eu un impact réel sur le confort : vêtements et serviettes n’ont pas réussi à sécher, ni à l’intérieur ni à l’extérieur. La maison n’est pas chauffée hors chambres, rendant les matinées fraîches. La présence d’une buanderie attenante sans accès et un va-et-vient ponctuel d’employés avec visibilité à l’intérieur ont aussi affecté le sentiment d’intimité. En résumé, un logement conforme et bien situé, mais à anticiper selon la sensibilité au confort, à l’humidité et à l’intimité.

January 2026The house is very tastefully furnished and there is plenty of space. It has everything you need for a few wonderful days in Monteverde. The location is also perfect, easy to get to, with excellent shopping nearby. Gamaliel (host) responded promptly to all questions, and communication was excellent in every aspect. You feel very comfortable from start to finish. A highlight is the view from the master bedroom. The value for money is unbeatable with this Airbnb. Thank you for the lovely stay. Pura Vida ?

January 2026Such a beautiful property!! I was so impressed walking in, the work put into this property shows and I was very impressed. The hosts were so kind and incredible, their instructions were so clear and they provided clear pics which is so helpful to have. Throughout the trip they provided great local recommendations for restaurants. I was really happy with the communication. I love Monteverde, it was not our first time and definitely won’t be our last. I truly recommend this property if you’re staying in monteverde because trust me you will see outstanding sunsets and the brightest stars you will ever see. The place could use new cookware for being more well stocked. Besides that, a good stay in a already secluded area

January 2026The space was beautiful and huge and really luxurious with a beautiful main bedroom with enormous windows. Easily accommodating 4 - 6 people. It was in the cloud forests which was a unique experience. Best to get there in daylight as it is in the hills and on slightly unpaved roads and took us a few minutes to find it. Amenities were as described and this is a really beautiful home, better than the pictures. The main bathroom, toilet and shower were at one end of the very large main bedroom and not enclosed, which was unusual. We only stayed for one night and the host were super helpful and very responsive in getting us checked in quickly as this was a last-minute booking. It was a bit cold, though. Overall a positive experience.

January 2026Stunning cloud forest setting with beautiful natural surroundings and close to adventures. The roads are curvy and windy, so arrive early, but the place was easy to locate using nearby landmarks like Bon Appétit and 100% Aventura. Spacious and comfortable for a group.

December 2025We only were able to stay in Monteverde for one night but really enjoyed our stay here! The home is beautiful and the location felt very safe, peaceful and private. It was only a few minutes to town but really felt like the country. The home design was really unique! The host was very responsive and gave us great instructions for check in and made sure we had everything that we needed. We would definitely recommend this home to other travelers in the Monteverde area!!!

Host was very helpful and prompt responding. If you have had some hot water issues at other location in CR, not here. Lots of hot water and the rainfall shower was great. Kitchen is huge.

November 2025The place was awesome!!! We wee literally in the clouds. The host was responsive and proactive. The house is 10-12 minutes drive to downtown Monteverde. Not related to house/house, 200-300 meters from the property is an adventure place where we experienced the most awesome Zipline activity. Longest one about a mile long over the canopy, Superman zipline and Tarzan swing were some of the highlights.

June 2025Great place, very helpful and friendly host. I’m glad we found Gamaliel’s place in Monteverde. We were 6 people with kids and needed access to a full kitchen. The location was beautiful and peaceful. Accommodations were very comfortable.

June 2025This place is even nicer than the photos, and it's very spacious. The kitchen and living room are actually quite large, especially for only three of us, and it's beautiful. The view from the master bedroom is lovely, and the windows/doors allow so much light in during the day. There was plenty of cookware for us to prepare our breakfast each day, and I enjoyed the introduction to the chorreador for making coffee; I even got one to bring home with me. Everything was clean and welcoming. Check-in was really easy as we followed Gamaliel's detailed instructions (including photos) and arrived before dark as suggested. We did experience a very small leak in the second bedroom ceiling one night during some heavy rain. which Gamaliel took care of the next day. It's located close to Don Juan tours (which we visited for the coffee/cacao/sugar tour), a number of restaurants, downtown Santa Elana, and the Cloud Forest Reserve.

The host and her assistant have been so helpful with troubleshooting, connecting us with local resources, and all around great energy. I cannot say enough good things. The space itself is beautiful and the bed is super comfortable.

I would suggest a 4x4 when getting to the home as it is an unpaved road prior to arrival. there isn't a lot within walking distance but we didn't mind, I appreciated how safe and private the area felt. I loved seeing the neighbor cows and hearing the livestock in the morning, it was so peaceful.

March 2025Die Unterkunft ist großzügig und vor allem die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Es ist allerdings sehr kalt im Haus und warme Kleidung absolut notwendig. Um zur Unterkunft zu gelangen fährt man von Monteverde circa 10 Minuten Schotterstraßen, was langsam aber absolut machbar ist. Gamaliel ist eine sehr herzliche und hilfsbereite Gastgeberin und war wirklich immer erreichbar!

February 2025We had a great stay in the cloud forest. This place is even more beautiful than the photos and much bigger. My only feedback would be to ensure you bring extra layers for warmth. The host and reviews both mentioned this, but I’m from Alberta where we experience -30 so I didn’t think it would be cold, but it does get chilly at night! It’s a beautiful piece of property where you can truly unwind and connect to nature. As mentioned by the host and reviews it is highly recommended to have 4x4 to get there and I’m glad we did. It is a jaunt through the mountains to get there, but so worth it. Gamaliel and Milady were great hosts, super responsive and helpful. I even forgot something and Gamaliel was able to ship it to the next town I travelled to. I highly recommend staying here!

Gamaliel et Milady ont été des hôtes incroyables! En quelques échanges, ils nous ont organisé une soirée nocturne avec un guide à quelques pas de la maison! Le jeune guide Gilberto était charmant et très fier de nous faire découvrir la faune et la flore nocturne de sa propriété familiale! À la fin, un copieux repas dans le restaurant familial. Une expérience unique! Nos hôtes nous ont aussi trouvé un guide pour une sortie ornithologique dans la forêt tropicale de nuages. Roy a été sensationnel! Il nous a fait voir des toucans , des quetzals, et une quarantaine d’autres espèces d’oiseaux de ce secteur. Attention aux routes dans le secteur car c’est de la gravelle (comme plusieurs routes de Monteverde) mais nous avions une voiture 2 x 4 et c’était suffisant. Si vous allez faire des activités dans le secteur (110% aventura ou El Tigre), c’est un bon emplacement pour rester.

April 2024Gamaliel’s place was really nice with updated amenities. What stood out in particular was the pristine kitchen (chairs were slightly uncomfortable) and rain shower in the bathrooms. The view from the location was great though the road coming to the airbnb was an uneven dirt road so be mindful of that. The check in process was easy and Gamaliel was very responsive. Something to note is that The bathroom in the master is open to the room so no privacy.

May 2024Gamaliel’s place is beautiful and looks exactly like the pictures. We were a group of 5 and had a great and comfortable experience. There is no AC but it gets cool at night so it was fine. The bathroom in the master bedroom is not private, and is an open layout in the room (just something to note) The location is about 10 mins drive from most of the restaurants which was no problem. Gamaliel was so helpful is getting activities booked for us, we especially loved the Ziplining at 100% Aventura (2 min walk from the place). Definitely recommend this place for anyone groups!

June 2024Beautiful home and very spacious for myself and two teenagers. The pictures accurately portray the home. No issues with plumbing or hot water. Within walking distance of 100% Adventura which provided an extremely fun experience zip lining. A 4x4 is needed on this road. Must arrive before 6pm. I rented a wifi from my car rental company just in case but I was able to get away with my cell coverage which was surprising to me. However, having the wifi backup was nice just in case. In regards to paying at local eating establishments, I was able to use Tap Pay with my Apple Card. They take credit cards everywhere I went.

Anyone staying here should definitely follow the directions given by the host - otherwise it would be hard to find - but with the directions and the photos, we found the house easily! Our hosts set up 2 experiences for us - a night hike and horse back riding - and both exceeded our expectations! The night hike is right next door which was a fun surprise - we got to know the surrounding area. The showers are also lovely. Highly recommend!

They recommended a night tour through Finca Bello Amanecer which was right next to the house. It was amazing - highly recommend it - and don't miss the dinner! The master bedroom and kitchen were spectacular, and the host was beyond nice. If you have a chance, book this house!

August 2024We only stayed a night and wish we could have stayed longer. The home is just as described, very clean, comfortable and with beautiful surroundings. I was pleasantly surprised by the waterfall showers which were appreciated after a long day of travel. They also booked a tour for me and were very responsive. The only suggestion I would make, is to also give directions via Waze, which seems to work better than google maps in CR. We got really lost on the way up and in the dark it felt a little precarious. Overall, I loved waking up to the green hillside in the morning and would not hesitate to stay again.

He also went out of his way to give restaurant recommendations & instruct us on how to get food delivery service so we did not have to leave the house in the rain. Would 1000% recommend
